Find the central idea

Start with a conversation, article or recording that has something useful to say. Identify the key argument and the questions it answers before selecting clips.

Give each piece its own context

A short clip needs a beginning that makes sense without the full recording. Trim references that require missing context and add clear captions where they help understanding.

Design a repeatable system

Create a small family of title cards, captions and thumbnails. Consistency should help people recognize the work while leaving room for the subject to lead.

Review, then refine

Look at how people respond and where they lose interest. Use those observations to inform the next edit, while avoiding broad conclusions from a small sample.
